A Glimpse Into Queensland’s Past!

We’re heading back to the 1800s, when Brisbane was growing from a colonial town into a busy city, while new communities were emerging across Queensland. The discovery of gold at Gympie in 1867 brought thousands hoping to strike it rich, while Queensland’s first railway between Ipswich and Grandchester opened in 1865.

Old photographs give us a fascinating glimpse of a Queensland that has largely disappeared - a world of horse-drawn vehicles, steam trains, dusty streets and growing towns. Join us as we bring these amazing pieces of Queensland’s history back to life!

The visuals should therefore be viewed as historical interpretations rather than exact representations of the original scenes.
